Upshur teacher faces sexual assault charge

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- An Upshur County teacher was arrested this week on a sexual assault charge, police said.

Thomas B. Lamb, 49, of Buckhannon, was arrested Thursday on a felony charge of third-degree sexual assault, according to a news release from the Upshur County Sheriff's Department.

Lamb is a teacher at Buckhannon-Upshur Intermediate School, according to the release. He was arraigned by Upshur County Magistrate Mike Coffman, who set bond at $100,000.

WBOY-TV reported that Lamb is accused of having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl, according to a criminal complaint.

Lamb was in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on Friday.
