CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Kanawha County sheriff's deputies working in different parts of the county found two meth labs at almost exactly the same time Sunday.

Capt. Bryan Robbins of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department said Deputy M.D. Dickerson stopped a pickup truck on Big Tyler Road just before noon because the vehicle did not have an inspection sticker. He quickly discovered that the driver, Daniel G. Pauley, 32, of Sissonville, had a license revoked for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, Robbins said.

Anthony Crithfield, 38, of Kenna, was a passenger in the vehicle, Robbins said.

Robbins said the deputy also discovered numerous items used in the production of methamphetamine, including liquid Heet, coffee filters, iodine and butane.

Dickerson and Crithfield were both arrested and charged with attempting to operate a clandestine drug lab. Dickerson will also be charged with driving on a revoked license.

Just a few minutes later, Cpl. W.C. Moyers was at a home on Weir Lane in Elkview investigating a drug tip when he allegedly discovered a meth lab in an outbuilding, Robbins said. Moyers allegedly found Heet, iodine, isopropyl alcohol, glass tubing and other items used for making methamphetamine.

John C. Wyne, 40, was arrested and charged with operating a drug lab. All three men were in the South Central Regional Jail this morning awaiting arraignment.
