Poca man gets 20 years on child porn charges
Advertiser

WINFIELD, W.Va. -- A Poca man was sentenced Friday to 20 years in prison for having child pornography on his computer, an assistant Putnam County prosecutor said.

Putnam Circuit Judge Phillip Stowers sentenced William Burt Shingleton, 45, for the 20 counts of possessing material visually portraying a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct he was found guilty of in June.

Shingleton, a father of four, tried to blame his 10-year-old son during the trial for the pornography found on his computer.

Police seized Shingleton's computer in April 2010 after Shingleton's brother-in-law gave police a thumb drive, which his daughter had discovered contained pornographic images.
