CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Charleston man was stabbed multiple times in the back and neck with a pair of scissors, Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies said.

At 10 p.m. Monday, Kanawha County Sheriff's Department Cpl. M.A. Huddleston responded to a disturbance call at 100 Depot Hill Road in Cedar Grove and found Anthony Williams, 33, of Cedar Grove, being treated for multiple slash and stab wounds by paramedics on his neck and back, according to the sheriff's department.

Huddleston found a pair of scissors at the scene that he believes was the "instrument used to cut" Williams, according to the sheriff's department.

Glasgow Police took Bryan A. Taylor, 24, of Charleston, into custody for his alleged involvement in the stabbing.

Williams and Taylor are acquaintances and Huddleston said the men had allegedly been in an argument earlier in the day that had culminated in the physical fight, according to the sheriff's department.

Williams was transported to CAMC General for treatment.

Taylor faces malicious wounding charges and was being Tuesday in the South Central Regional Jail in lieu of a $50,000 or 10 percent cash, bail.
