HARRISVILLE, W.Va. -- West Virginia State Police are looking for someone who broke into the evidence room of the Harrisville State Police detachment in Ritchie County late Tuesday and made off with evidence.

State Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Baylous said someone broke into the detachment through a window sometime late Tuesday, then forced their way into the evidence room. Some evidence was stolen, but State Police are not saying what was taken pending the conclusion of an investigation into the theft.

State Police are working closely with Ritchie County prosecutor Judi McCullough, Baylous said.

Anyone with information is asked to call their local West Virginia State Police detachment or visit www.wvcrime.com.
