CHARLESTON, W.Va. --Kanawha County sheriff's deputies have identified a woman killed when she was thrown from her car during a crash near Sissonville on Sunday evening, dispatchers say.

Angela Sharps, 24, of Julian was heading north on Interstate 77 just before 6 p.m. when she lost control of her 2011 Suzuki coupe, went into the median and rolled over several times just north of the Edens Fork exit, said Capt. Sean Crosier of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department.

Crosier said Sharps was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled in the median. Paramedics attempted to revive her, but were unsuccessful, he said.

Crosier said several motorists who were driving near Sharps called Metro 911 to report that she was driving erratically, suddenly slamming on her brakes in traffic and then accelerating rapidly.

"We received a report of her driving erratically just moments before the accident," Crosier said. "We had deputies en route to the location when the incident occurred."

The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy.
