CAMPBELLS CREEK, W.Va. -- Kanawha County authorities arrested a couple Monday night in connection with the robbery of an elderly Campbells Creek man.

Detectives with the Kanawha Bureau of Investigation picked up Terry Lee Shamblin Jr., 35, of Eskdale and Tonia Kay Blount, 26, of Campbells Creek late Monday and charged them with robbery for an alleged attack on James Chapman on Sunday, said Capt. Sean Crosier of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department.

Chapman, 66, heard a knock on the door of his Gapview Drive home at about 5 p.m. and opened it to find a woman, believed to be Blount, outside. Blount allegedly asked for money, Crosier said Monday.

When Chapman let her in, Shamblin allegedly burst in and held Chapman while Blount allegedly stole his wallet, Crosier said. Chapman received minor injuries but refused treatment.

Crosier said Blount was arrested at home while getting ready to flee to Ohio. Shamblin was found walking along Campbells Creek Road.

Blount and Shamblin were in the South Central Regional Jail today with bond set at $50,000 each.
