CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Two Charleston residents were arrested after police found three young children in a home littered with syringes, razor blades, trash, a methamphetamine lab and stolen items linking the two to more than 30 vehicles break-ins.

Kevin Michael Hodskins, 34, and Brittany Elizabeth Wright, 22, both of 17 Estill Dr., in Charleston, face three counts each of child neglect creating risk of injury and one felony count of operating a clandestine meth lab, according to the Charleston Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division.

Children ages 1, 18 months, and 6-years-old were removed from the home and taken to a local hospital for treatment of exposure to the meth lab. Child Protective Services is now taking care of the three children.

At least three police officers were also exposed to the chemicals and were treated.

Charleston detectives issued several search warrants on Dec. 13, including one at Hodskins and Wright's residence on Estill Drive, which is off Bendview Drive. Charleston Police had received several reports of breaking and entering of vehicles on Bendview Drive in South Hills.

During the search warrant of their home, police found stolen items and evidence connecting Hodskins and Wright to more than 30 vehicle break-ins in South Charleston that occurred on Dec. 4.

Police also discovered stolen credentials and personal belongings taken from the City of Charleston Prosecuting Attorneys office.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division, Metro Drug Unit and the Patrol Division worked together.

Hodskins and Wright are each being held at the South Central Regional Jail on a $100,000 bond.

The investigation into the break-ins continues.
