POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. -- Two people were hospitalized following a shooting incident in Point Pleasant on Tuesday.

Point Pleasant Police Chief Ernie Watterson said Earl Bonecutter Jr.; Michael Stewart, 20 and Franklin Eaves, 22, got into an argument at around 7 p.m. at a Point Pleasant apartment complex. Watterson said Eaves and Bonecutter are neighbors, and had been drinking all day, according to witnesses.

Watterson said Eaves allegedly went back to his apartment to get a shotgun, and allegedly fired it through a window into Bonecutter's kitchen, wounding both Bonecutter and Stewart.

Stewart and Bonecutter were both hit in the abdomen by shotgun pellets. Watterson said Stewart was treated and released from Pleasant Valley Hospital following the incident. Bonecutter remained at the hospital Wednesday following surgery, but is expected to recover.

Eaves, who was highly intoxicated and spent several hours outside Tuesday night, was also under observation at the hospital, Watterson said. Police expect to charge him with two counts of malicious wounding.
