OAK HILL, W.Va. -- A 54-year-old Fayette County school bus driver was arrested Thursday after police said he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl who rides his bus.

State Police charged Steven Ricardo Malay, of Oak Hill, with two counts of third-degree sexual assault and two counts of sexual abuse by a person of trust.

The victim told Light on Thursday that she had sexual relations with Malay on at least two occasions between Dec. 1 and 7 at her house in Oak Hill, according to a criminal complaint filed in Fayette County Magistrate Court.

Malay said he's been the victim's bus driver for the past five years, according to the complaint.

Malay, according to police, admitted to going to the girl's house twice late at night but denied any sexual contact.

Malay was arraigned in Fayette County Magistrate Court and later released on bond.

Disciplinary action was taken against Malay and he no longer works for the school district, Fayette County Schools Superintendent Keith Butcher told WVVA-TV.

Butcher told the TV station no one's children are in danger and all Fayette County school buses are safe. He could not be reached for comment by the Gazette-Mail late Friday.
