LOGAN, W.Va. -- A Logan County man wanted in connection to a shooting on Christmas surrendered himself to sheriff's deputies on Friday.

Mack Brumfield, 18, came to the Logan County Sheriff's Department with his mother and surrendered at about 4 p.m., a dispatcher said.

Police have been looking for Brumfield ever since authorities said he shot Kenneth Tomblin five or six times in the torso following an altercation on Dec. 25 along Sun Catcher Street in the Henlawson area. Tomblin is the stepfather of Brumfield's girlfriend.

Tomblin, 40, remains in critical condition in CAMC General Hospital's Intensive Care Unit.

Brumfield was to be arraigned Friday night in Logan County Magistrate Court.
