CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A sheriff's dive team was searching a remote lake in Mingo County after sonar detected what they believed to be a submerged vehicle there Saturday evening.

That vehicle possibly belongs to Evelyn Joyce Farnum, 55, of Lenore, a Mingo deputy said.

Relatives last saw Farnum on Dec. 30 driving her black 2003 Jeep Liberty.

On Saturday, deputies thought the jeep could be in a small lake located off Laurel Creek Road near Lenore. Dive teams were searching the lake Saturday night.

Farnum has brown eyes and dark blonde hair. She is about 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 100 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call the State Police at 304-235-6000 or the Mingo Sheriff's Department at 304-235-0300.
