CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A woman who was hit by a pickup truck on Charleston's West Side late Sunday has died.

Larisha Green, 32, of Dunbar, died Monday morning at CAMC General Hospital, according to Lt. Shawn Williams of the Charleston Police Department.

Williams said Green and her mother had been staying at the Sunset Motel on Sissonville Drive when Green decided to try to walk home to Dunbar. Green was walking in the middle of Sissonville Drive, between Chandler Drive and West Washington Street, when she was struck by a 2012 Ford F-150 pickup truck, Williams said.

Williams said the area where Green was hit is poorly lit. He said the driver of the truck, Kim Durkin, 46, of Kentucky, will not be charged in the accident.

A Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatcher said Green was unresponsive and bleeding from the head when paramedics arrived.
