ELKINS, W.Va. -- A Tygarts Valley High School student accused of fatally stabbing a classmate at a football game will be tried as an adult.

Randolph County prosecutor Michael Parker tells media outlets that Circuit Court Judge Jaymie Wilfong approved the prosecution's motion to transfer the case on Monday.

Seventeen-year-old Dustin White was stabbed outside the high school's stadium on Oct. 26, 2012. The incident occurred about 20 minutes before a game between Tygarts Valley and Hundred High School.

Parker says the case will be presented to a Randolph County grand jury.
