Five heroin overdoses in Parkersburg in 2 weeks
Advertiser

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. -- Parkersburg police are seeking the source of heroin following five overdoses in less than two weeks.

Sgt. Greg Collins says police are trying to find out who the dealers are and where the heroin is coming from.

Collins tells the Parkersburg News and Sentinel that there are indications that the heroin is a strong batch from New York, rather than a contaminated batch.

One person died Jan. 12 from a suspected heroin overdose.

The latest incident occurred Saturday evening when officers found an unresponsive 30-year-old woman at an apartment complex. She was taken to a local hospital.
