SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. -- A man died and a woman suffered injuries in a Nicholas County traffic accident Tuesday afternoon, police say.

The wreck happened around 1:15 p.m. on W.Va. 20 in Allingdale.

Police say Tony Allen Lough, 25, of Craigsville, drove a 2007 Pontiac G6 into the opposing lane of traffic and struck a 1997 Ford F-150 driven by Patricia Doverspike, 65, of Richwood, according to a news release from the Nicholas County Sheriff's Department.

Lough was killed in the crash. Doverspike was flown to Charleston Area Medical Center for treatment of her injuries, where she was "under evaluation" Tuesday night, a supervisor said.

The Nicholas County Sheriff's Department is investigating the accident.
