HURRICANE, W.Va. -- Police in Putnam County arrested two more people this week in connection with an armed robbery Jan. 9.

Elvis Leo Russell Jr., 34, and Janel Marie Salmons, 22, both of Culloden, were charged with first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery.

Last week, Putnam County sheriff's deputies also arrested Stephanie Bea Horn, 22, of Scott Depot, and Lewis Day, 27, of Hurricane.

On Dec. 9, Horn and Salmons picked up Holly Price and Kevin McCallister at Price's house on Putnam Avenue in Hurricane, according to a criminal complaint filed in Putnam County Magistrate Court.

As they were driving over a hill on Fletcher Road, Salmons told Horn to turn around and take her back to the top of the hill so she could use the bathroom, the complaint states.

After about 10 minutes, when Horn returned to the car, she was with Russell and Day and Russell pointed a silver revolver at Price and McCallister and ordered them out of the car, the complaint states. Police say Day then grabbed McCallister by the throat and pushed him to the ground and began beating him.

Salmons and Horn searched Price's purse, according to the complaint, while the two men searched McCallister's pockets.

Salmons and Day were being held in Western Regional Jail in lieu of a $200,000 bail each Friday. Russell was in South Central Regional Jail on Friday in lieu of a $50,000 bail. Horn was taken to Western Regional Jail and later released on a $200,000 bail.
