CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A St. Albans woman was arrested Saturday and charged with malicious wounding after police say she stabbed her boyfriend in the back with a butcher knife.

The man told police Patricia Lou Wilson, 49, was drunk when she stabbed him at their home on High Street in St. Albans, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.

When Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies arrived, the complaint states, Leo W. McQuabbie was standing in front of his apartment holding a bloody towel on his lower back. He told police that Wilson, his girlfriend of two years, stabbed him while he was bent down toward the television during an argument.

Deputies found Wilson on the floor in a bedroom of the apartment, according to the complaint.

A knife, with blood about two inches down its blade was in the kitchen sink, the complaint states.

Wilson was being held in the South Central Regional Jail Sunday evening.
