Bicyclist injured in South Charleston collision

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A bicyclist was taken to a hospital after being struck by a car Thursday evening in South Charleston.

The accident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of MacCorkle Avenue SW and 7th Avenue near Rite Aid Pharmacy.

Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatchers said the male bicyclist was taken to Thomas Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. The driver remained on scene and was talking to South Charleston police officers.

Dispatchers said the eastbound lane was closed for more than an hour.
