Police arrest man who allegedly held woman at gunpoint

CLENDENIN, W.Va. -- A man considered "armed and dangerous" who allegedly held a woman hostage was arrested Monday night, according to media reports.

A man identified multiple times as Rodney Workman was allegedly holding a woman hostage by gunpoint around 8 p.m. Monday while traveling in a maroon Chevy Blazer near Spencer Road in Clendenin, according to scanner traffic.

The vehicle had been headed for Roane County.

State Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Baylous, who did not respond to the Gazette, told other media outlets that Workman was arrested.
