BECKLEY, W.Va. -- A Raleigh County man was arrested Sunday after allegedly stealing a car and robbing two local convenience stores.

Carlos Burnside, 36, of Beaver, allegedly stole a car that had been left running from the Shell gas station in Daniels at about 7 p.m. Sunday, according to a press release issued by the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department. Minutes later, someone matching Burnside's description robbed a One Stop convenience store on Harper Road in Beckley, authorities said.

The same person allegedly robbed the Little General store in Beaver at about 10 p.m. before leading Raleigh County sheriff's deputies on a car chase that ended when Burnside allegedly crashed into a building, authorities said.

Burnside was arrested and charged with grand larceny and two counts of armed robbery. He was in the Southern Regional Jail on Monday afternoon, with bond set at $50,000.
