Police charged a Charleston man with attempted murder Friday morning after he allegedly stabbed his father in the neck with a knife.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Police charged a Charleston man with attempted murder Friday morning after he allegedly stabbed his father in the neck with a knife.
At 6:29 a.m., Charleston police responded to report of a stabbing at 1620 B Franklin Ave. and met with Thomas Ornbaun, 60.
Ornbaum said his 24-year-old son, Drew Connor Ornbaun, stabbed him in the neck with a knife as his father walked out of his bedroom, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
Police detained Drew Ornbaun who said he had attacked his father because he was "tired of being threatened," according to the criminal complaint.
Police found blood on the walls near the father's bedroom and a bloody knife on a dryer in an adjacent hallway. Thomas Ornbaun was taken to CAMC General Hospital and released Friday.
Drew Ornbaun is being held in South Central Regional Jail in lieu of a $10,000 cash-only bail.
