BRADLEY, W.Va. -- Police say a man with a knife attempted to rob a Raleigh County grocery store Friday morning.

The man held a clerk at the Bradley Supermarket, in Bradley, at knifepoint and demanded money, according to a statement from the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department.

The incident happened at about 10:30 a.m.

The clerk set off an alarm and yelled for the storeowner, who chased the man as he left the store, according to police.

Another man picked up the suspect and drove off, but the storeowner noted the vehicle's license plate number.

Raleigh County deputies found the vehicle and are questioning the suspects, both described as black men.

The investigation is ongoing.
