CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Charleston Police arrested a man and charged him in connection to a shooting outside a restaurant on Washington Street West early Saturday morning. The initial shooting led to more than 60 bullets being fired from at least three different guns, police said.
Smith fired the gun directly at Williamson and struck him once in the upper left thigh. This shot provoked gunfire from other individuals nearby, Taylor said.
Smith was convicted in U.S. district court in November 2000 for conspiracy to distribute cocaine, as well as aiding and abetting to distribute cocaine. His original sentence was life in prison, which was later reduced to about 405 months, according to the news release. He has since been released and has been under federal supervision.
It was not immediately clear what current charges Smith is facing.
Williamson's bail has been set at $50,000.

Robert Jared Smith was arrested Monday in connection to the shooting of Andre Williamson, 25, outside The Seoul of Charleston, a Korean restaurant, near the intersection of Washington Street West and Stockton Street. Williamson was shot in the leg.
Ciera Leftwich, 22, was also shot in the leg. She could not identify the person who shot her, which led police to believe she was not involved in the incident.
Williamson, also known as "A3," was also taken into police custody Monday afternoon after his release from CAMC General Hospital. He was charged Saturday with accessory in the death of David Juaboi Booker, who was found dead of multiple bullet wounds in the 1200 block of Milton Street last October.
Richard Bernard Hilliard pleaded guilty March 5 to charges of voluntary manslaughter in Booker's death. Hilliard told a Kanawha circuit judge that Booker had tried to rob him and Williamson as the three were sitting in a car on Charleston's East End.
Police believe Smith targeted Williamson in retaliation for Booker's death.
Williamson identified Smith as the man who shot him early Saturday as he was approaching the front door of the restaurant. Smith approached him and got Williamson's attention before he pulled a black semi-automatic handgun from his waistband, Charleston Detective Jarl Taylor said in a news release.
