CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Kanawha County man has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for illegally possessing several firearms, including an AK-47 assault rifle.

Mark D. Davis of Rand was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Charleston.

Prosecutors say deputy U.S. marshals with an arrest warrant went to Davis' home last April and discovered numerous weapons, ammunition and body armor.

The 52-year-old Davis was prohibited from possessing firearms due to a prior felony conviction.
