TITUSVILLE, Fla. -- A former school counselor from Princeton who was convicted of possessing child pornography, but fled before being sentenced was arrested in Florida on Wednesday.
Brett David Bowyer was arrested by a Florida Highway Patrol trooper in Titusville after failing to move over for a police cruiser, according to the Space Coast Daily newspaper.
Bowyer, a former high school counselor and coach at Princeton Senior High, pleaded guilty to more than 20 counts of possessing child pornography in 2011 and disappeared shortly after. He allegedly gave police a false name Wednesday and was identified with a handheld fingerprint scanner, the newspaper reported.
Bowyer was charged with resisting arrest without violence and having an improper inspection sticker. He is currently awaiting a hearing on extradition to West Virginia. Bowyer was featured on "America's Most Wanted."
