HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- A former Nitro High School wrestling standout took bath salts before jumping naked on cars Wednesday night in Huntington, police said.
Seth Montgomery Easter, 23, of Nitro, was charged with battery on an officer, indecent exposure and fleeing on foot.
State Police Sgt. Greg Losh said troopers received a call of a naked man jumping on passing cars along West Pea Ridge Road in Huntington at 9:45 p.m.
When troopers got there, the man identified himself as Easter and began cooperating with the arrest, Losh said. Easter's mood quickly changed and he punched a trooper in the face before he ran to another passing car, Losh said. Troopers chased him and he allegedly resisted arrest before he was put into handcuffs.
Easter later admitted to taking bath salts, an illegal synthetic drug similar to cocaine, Losh said. He was taken to Western Regional Jail and later released on bail.
Troopers don't know where Easter obtained the bath salts, which are illegal to possess and sell in West Virginia. The powerful drug is known to make users hallucinate and become violent.
Easter won the Outstanding Wrestler Award from the state Secondary Schools Activities Commission in 2008. He later wrestled for Cornell University.
