CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A CSX train had to stop to clear an obstruction across the railroad tracks in the Tornado area Friday evening, a dispatcher said.
The incident occurred along the Coal River near Edgewater Lane, off Smith Creek Road, a dispatcher at Metro 911 said. Someone laid a pole across the tracks, blocking train traffic, the dispatcher said.
Metro received a call at 5:22 p.m. and notified CSX, which is standard procedure, the dispatcher said. The West Virginia State Police was aware of the situation Friday night but had no information.
