Charleston police raided a West Side sandwich shop early Sunday morning, finding guns, drugs and alcohol in what they described as an after hours bar.
It was the second such incident in five weeks at Miss Sylvia's Sandwich Shop, at 2401 West Washington St.
At around 5 a.m. a Charleston Police SWAT team raided Miss Sylvia's, according to Chief of Detectives Steve Cooper. There were about 50 people there, as well as a large amount of liquor, several hand guns and scattered amounts of marijuana, Cooper said.
The shop does not have a liquor license.
Four people were arrested and two officers sustained minor injuries.
Officers, who had obtained a search warrant, had to break a window to let themselves in after people inside refused to open the door.
There were about 20 officers with the SWAT team as well as numerous others from other units.
Cooper described the crowd as "fairly belligerent."
