CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A section of Interstate 77/64 has reopened as Division of Highways crews worked to replace a utility pole.
Charleston Police briefly closed a section of Interstate 77/64 in both directions at about 3:30 p.m. The closing only lasted about five minutes.
The interstate was shortly blocked between the Capitol Street/Greenbrier Street exits and the Capitol Street/Leon Sullivan exits for about 20 minutes.
A truck hit a utility pole near Piedmont Road, next to the interstate, early Friday morning. The pole became destabilized, causing a potentially hazardous situation, according to Kanawha County Metro 911.
