BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. -- A former West Virginia State Police trooper was indicted this week in connection with an alleged arson in Cabell County.
Stephen S. Gula and two other men were indicted by a Cabell County grand jury on Tuesday. The three allegedly set fire to a house on Cyrus Creek Road in Barboursville on March 15.
Gula was a trooper at the Cabell County detachment but resigned March 4, State Police Sgt. Michael Baylous said. Gula had graduated from the State Police Academy and was on probationary status, Baylous said.
Kenneth L. Holden II and Donovan S. Smith, both of Barboursville, also were named in the indictment.
