PARKERSBURG, W.Va. -- A Wood County judge has upheld the 2010 dismissal of a Parkersburg police officer.
Circuit Judge Jeffrey Reed on Thursday set aside a decision by the three-member Parkersburg police civil service commission that overturned the firing of Floyd C. Holliday II. The commission had ruled three years ago the firing was too harsh. The city appealed.
The city fired Holliday in June 2010. He was accused of failing to return property confiscated after a traffic stop and misusing a police department computer. No criminal charges were filed.
Holliday has been suspended with pay since the incident.
Holliday has four months to appeal. His attorney, George Cosenza, tells the Parkersburg News & Sentinel he'll discuss the latest ruling with Holliday.
