CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Rand man told police he was stabbed and beaten for refusing to share his cigarettes.
Roger Fore, 40, of Rand, told deputies he was walking along Elaine Drive in Rand about 10:40 p.m. Saturday when another man rode up on a bicycle and asked Fore for a cigarette, according to Capt. Sean Crosier of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department. When Fore refused, the man allegedly attacked Fore with a metal pipe.
Crosier said Fore was taken to CAMC General Hospital, where he was treated for stab wounds and blunt force trauma.
Deputies are searching for the suspect, described as white male wearing a white baggy T-shirt and baggy jeans. Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy J.L. Lester at 304-357-0169.
