ELKINS, W.Va. -- A sheriff accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old is set to stand trial Sept. 30, 2014.
U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey entered the order Tuesday in Elkins.
Barbour County Sheriff John Hawkins denies charges that he assaulted the girl when she was applying for a job at the county 911 center in 2011.
Hawkins also denied the victim's accusation that he has a "proclivity and tendency for violence and excessive force,'' and that he used that force on other female victims.
The Barbour County Commission has also said it will fight the accusations and that it's found no evidence to support them.
The now 19-year-old woman sued in July in a case that also accuses Hawkins of unlawful arrest, excessive force, civil conspiracy, false imprisonment and malicious prosecution.
