CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Mingo County man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly wounded his son during a fight near Delbarton.
West Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Baylous said troopers from the Delbarton State Police detachment went to a home in Delbarton on Wednesday to respond to a report of an altercation.
When they got there, they discovered Acie S. Copley, 37, of Delbarton, had allegedly shot his 12-year-old son in the leg.
Baylous said the boy was treated and released from Appalachian Regional Hospital. Copley was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment and child neglect resulting in injury.Copley was being held without bail Thursday at the Southwestern Regional Jail in Holden.
