CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Charleston police have arrested a man who allegedly shot a man in the face on the West Side on Sunday afternoon.
Michael Edward Butler, 18, was in custody Monday afternoon, a Charleston Police Department spokesman said.
Police expected to charge Butler with attempted first-degree murder after he allegedly shot Maylik Watson, 20, in the face. Both men are from Charleston.
Butler would also be charged with burglary, petit larceny and transferring and receiving stolen goods, police said.
The incident started in the 400 block of Delaware Avenue and continued to Roane Street, where Watson was shot. Watson was in CAMC General Hospital on Monday, but police expected him to survive his injury.
Butler was being held in South Central Regional Jail on Monday evening, awaiting arraignment in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
