IVYDALE, W.Va. -- Police in Clay County say they found materials to make pipe bombs inside a home where a domestic disturbance was reported Thursday.
Michael N. Darius Jr., 68, of Ivydale, was arrested Friday and charged with possession of explosives without a permit and domestic battery, according to a news release from State Police Lt. Michael Baylous.
On Thursday, State Police Trooper B.E. Young responded to a disturbance at Darius' home in Ivydale. A woman said Darius hit her before fleeing, according to the release. The woman also said there were materials used to make pipe bombs inside the home. Young called the State Police Explosives Response Team, who came and removed the materials without incident.
