HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Investigators have theories about the disappearance and slaying of a Huntington woman, but detectives lack evidence to form a criminal charge, a police official told The Herald-Dispatch.
A Lincoln County man found the body of Diane Bess, 21, over an embankment along W.Va. 10 on Jan. 17. Bess was last seen leaving her mother's residence on Christmas Eve.
Investigators haven't determined when or where Bess was killed, said Cabell County Chief Sheriff's Deputy Doug Ferguson. The Sheriff's Department and Huntington police are investigating her death.
