NITRO, W.Va. -- Two separate accidents shut down the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Kanawha-Putnam county line.
Seven vehicles were involved in two accidents, according to Nitro Police Chief Brian Oxley. His department and State Police responded, and Oxley said they didn't know of any injuries.
"Unfortunately, in our world this is just another crash," Oxley said. "In that section of the interstate this happens all the time."
The eastbound lanes were closed to remove cars from the bridge, he said. The interstate re-opened around 9:30 a.m.
