CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A commission tasked with developing a long-term plan for West Virginia's highway system will hold its first meeting this week.
The West Virginia Blue Ribbon Commission on Highways is scheduled to meet Friday morning at the Capitol.
Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin announced the commission's members Monday. They include lawmakers, state and local officials, industry and labor representatives, college professors and citizens.The commission will study the state highway system's condition and needs, and identify funding options.
