CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia's Supreme Court nominees have spent more than $1.2 million since the May primary, and appear ready to spend more.
With two seats on the ballot, incumbent Justice Robin Davis spent the most at just over $601,000. The Democrat raised $207,000 between May 21 and last week.
Davis also loaned her campaign $500,000.
Fellow Democrat Tish Chafin spent nearly $445,000. The recent State Bar president collected nearly $172,000.
Republican Allen Loughry spent $193,000. The longtime Supreme Court law clerk raised just $8,500. But that came after a Sept. 7 court ruling that upended his participation in a public funding program.
Loughry, Davis and Chafin each had campaign balances exceeding $100,000.
Jefferson County Circuit Judge John Yoder is also running. The Republican raised $9,600 and had $10,400 on hand.
