Gov. Aretas B. Fleming, shown in this photo, had to wait nearly one year to take office as the Legislature sorted out disputed election results. Both he and opponent Nathan Goff were sworn in as governor while the dispute was in progress.

Inaugural items from the 1961 ceremony for Gov. Wally Barron, who was later convicted of bribing a juror, are included in the exhibit.

Photos, programs, tickets and inaugural ball dance cards dating back 150 years are among items on display in the new Archives exhibit.
