CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Applications are being accepted to fill a circuit judge vacancy representing Hampshire, Hardy and Pendleton counties.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin said the deadline to apply for the 22nd Judicial Circuit vacancy is March 13. Interviews will take place April 4.

The vacancy was created when Donald H. Cookman was appointed by Tomblin to fill a vacant seat in the state Senate. Cookman replaced Walt Helmick, who won election as agriculture commissioner in November.

Applications are being accepted by the Judicial Vacancy Advisory Commission.
