State video contest focuses on U.S. Constitution
A video contest invites West Virginia students to develop videos about the U.S. Constitution.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A video contest invites West Virginia students to develop videos about the U.S. Constitution.
The contest is sponsored by the state Department of Education and the West Virginia State Bar. It is open to state residents in the sixth through 12th grades.
Participants are asked to create 3-minute videos. Entries will be divided by middle school and high school and will be judged on originality, creativity, adherence to the theme, and overall quality.
First-place winners will receive $500 and will be invited to attend the State Bar's annual meeting on May 10 at Stonewall Jackson Resort. Second place wins $250.
Students can fill out an application and get the contest rules at http://wvde.state.wv.us/wvstatebar .
Participants under age 18 must receive their parents' permission. Submissions will be accepted until March 31.
