When Sarah Palin quit her governorship, you liberals called her a quitter, but Joe Manchin quit and I haven't seen one editorial calling him a quitter.
Thank you, Ken Hechler, for again helping your beloved state by bringing attention to the critical threat of mountaintop-removal mining, to the health and future of our state.
I think if the federal government would give the Muslim people another piece of land away from Ground Zero and let them build there and they refuse to and still want it there, that shows disrespect for the American people.
By staying home on Saturday, the vast majority of West Virginians voted none of the above.
If they ever do build a new Nitro and St. Albans bridge, for God's sake don't paint it blue because everyone around here who has nothing else to do but whine will cry about the color.
I don't understand how people can go to a church where so much hatred is being preached.
Barack Hussein Obama is the worst president in U.S. history. Worse than Jimmy Carter and Franklin Roosevelt.
I vote to give Randall Reid-Smith a dose of his own medicine.
I watched a little bit of MSNBC and according to them Glenn Beck was trying to start another civil war. I thought it was a peace rally.
Kids can't swing anymore in Cabell County, but in a few years we'll send them off to war.
I have three children at John Adams Middle School and we were all wondering why so many good teachers have left the school besides the teachers who retired?
I read in Phil Kabler's beat that the good old governor, no-show Joe, had a high school reunion party at the mansion. I wonder, but I'm sure it was funded by taxpayers.
I am so happy to read someone is saying something nice about the bridge. They did do a wonderful job; the color is great, too. Thanks to all the hard workers.
To the Charleston police or troopers, if you want a good place to catch people to write tickets, park at the Malden fire station. Almost everybody goes through the stop sign without stopping.
During the Washington rally, Sarah Palin said, "We must restore America and her honor." You don't restore honor by listening to her and Glenn Beck. People don't seem to realize that our problems in this country are primarily due to Republicans in Congress who won't pass legislation that will benefit our people.
Since Joe Manchin is running for office he will turn his back on the most recent PEIA fraud. Someone needs to be held accountable.
Voting statistics show that in Kanawha and Monongalia counties, Hechler got half as many votes as Manchin.
The Marshall fan talking about WVU being cheaters: Seems to me like you're still on probation for paying your kids money when they didn't even have a job. By the way, you'll be 0-2 here in about three weeks.

People of West Virginia showed Saturday why they're last in everything, they didn't bother to take 10 minutes to go and vote. Once Gayle and Joe get their tentacles into Washington we will never get them out, we'll be looking at another Sen. Byrd out of Manchin.
After listening to the governor speaking after winning the election, the people of West Virginia should wake up and realize he's out for his political career only and not the people of the state.
I have just received in the mail a mailer from the oil and gas industry claiming that raising taxes on energy will threaten over 60,000 jobs, and I don't buy that. I see it as propaganda to keep from going to alternative energy sources. As much as I like coal, the time has come to look into other energy sources, too.
I read that the Oxford English Dictionary is going strictly online, yet we are attempting to spend millions of dollars on a building to house books, which are growing more obsolete every day.
I have relatives and friends who are Republicans, and every one of them owns two or more Japanese autos, and they complain more about the economy than anyone. If they would support their own country first, we wouldn't be having to pay for all the bailouts.
I have finally come to realize that the only way you're going to get anything done by the city of Charleston is to have a friend or a relative, and of course be a Democrat. I think we need a change, and a big one.
I for one still appreciate and support the Gauley Bridge police officers, whether the Gazette wants to let them know or not.
Once again President Obama blamed Republicans. Today it was for the economy. He needs to look in the mirror and at the Democrats who have controlled Congress for four years.
The town of Cedar Grove has an ordinance that you can't put your grass clippings in the street, because it will stop up the sewer lines, yet we have people doing just that and no one says a thing about it.
Fox News broadcasters do include their point of view along with the news; it's common knowledge. You should listen to other newscasts and compare the difference. Don't be blind to the facts.
If Saturday's election was a referendum on mountaintop removal, it appears Joe and the coal industry can decapitate the state with citizens' blessings.
Thanks to Judge Chambers in stopping the runaway train of pollution by the coal corporations. Citizens do have rights to pure drinking water, air, and a right to peace and tranquility.
When will the construction of the new sidewalks be completed in the Sissonville area?
When and where did Shelley Moore Capito get hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal stimulus money to support the opening of a new community health center in Eleanor as noted in the Gazette? If I remember correctly she voted against all federal stimulus.
The teenagers in Knollwood that attend Capital High spend four hours each day on the school bus. They catch the bus at 6:30 a.m. and are dropped off between 4:15 and 4:30 p.m. It is absolutely ridiculous.
Just curious about how the name Mardi Gras can be so freely used here as the name for the casino at Cross Lanes. Is it not a registered name with protection from use by others?
Claiming state taxes as the reason why gas is cheaper in surrounding states does not wash when the tax difference is a dime or less and the price of a gallon is sometimes 50 cents more.
Contrary to the recent venter, surveillance cameras, according to extensive studies in the UK, do not prevent any crimes or make people safer. It is a false perception entirely. Their best use is in tracking something after the fact.
