Republicans have small memories. This recession started because Republicans didn't oversee Wall Street, and Wall Street went wild.
To all the venters who are so upset about the government not doing enough: The government, according to the Constitution, isn't to take care of the people, it's to govern and pass laws. It's up to the individual to get up off of their lazy behinds and find a job.
I sure wish I could have cast an extra vote in the election and replace all these apathetic people who didn't bother to do it.
If you go to a church where hatred is preached, you better find another church.
I would like to know why there's also a Mountaineer Gameday magazine in the Gazette and there's never one for the Herd game day. We have Marshall fans down here in West Virginia.
I like the new uniform and helmets we're going to have for the Pitt game but let's not forget we should still have white helmets with the gold logo for away games. It's pretty bad that Marshall has that and we can't afford it.
People driving on Jefferson Road toward Kanawha Turnpike, please explain the logic in having 12 to 15 car lengths in front of you between you and the next car. This disrupts the flow of traffic behind you. The more you tighten up the line of traffic, the more people make it through the light.
I can't believe somebody actually was praising the policemen in Gauley Bridge. This is one thick community and the people there should do something about it.
Why doesn't Gov. Manchin take some of the taxpayer money that has been stockpiled and fix Washington Street from end to end? This is the capital city and people are embarrassed to come here or have people visit.
To the person who calls Manchin a quitter: He finished his first term and someone has to replace Sen. Byrd. Is this all you got?
I was wondering if the Charleston Housing Authority was going to do anything about the siding falling off the projects at South Park Road? It's making our little community look awful.
Raese says he's for business and will put people to work. Tell us how many new hires he has at his own business?
Manchin said he loves West Virginia -- then why is he outsourcing the state IT workers? We need jobs.
The name Mardi Gras for the casino in Cross Lanes shows true West Virginia ignorance. Do they know what Mardi Gras means and where the word came from? They couldn't even think of their own name, they had to borrow it from someone else.
I see where they're taking swings out of schoolyards in another county. We pinched our fingers, we knocked people over and got knocked over, fell out of them and we didn't die, we got stronger for it. We're raising another batch of coddled children.
It's not hard to figure out why the U.S. is in the shape it's in. A few years ago the politicians actually did work a day or two out of the week, but now they campaign 24-7, 365 days a year.
If you read the Gazette, Manchin is already our next senator. This may be true and I think it is because the people of West Virginia don't want any change. If we want change, let's get the Democrat out and get Raese in like we should do.

I really and truly think President Obama and that bunch of knucklehead Democrats in D.C. have gone absolutely crazy. They are suing that Sheriff Joe for doing his job and arresting illegal aliens, and now he has to put up with the government suing him?
I was looking at my gas bill from Mountaineer Gas and they are really ripping people off. There is no way we should be having to pay them a customer charge of $8 every month when they only read our meters every other month.
I tried watching MSNBC today from 4 o'clock on and, oh my Lord, what obnoxious, angry people. What in the world are they so angry about?
I'm trying to get a medical card for my son who has a drug problem, and the DHHR hasn't returned my phone calls. I have left three or four messages a day and I've tried to call and complain. How do we expect the drug problem to get better in West Virginia if the DHHR won't help people who want to get off the drugs?
There was another accident today on Route 94 and it took an ambulance 45 minutes to get there from Cedar Grove. There will end up being a fatality due to lack of ambulance services in Marmet, Chesapeake and Hernshaw.
I'm reading where Jim Justice slammed the House GOP because they didn't give The Greenbrier a million dollars, but not long ago I read where they were bragging about how much money they had stolen from gamblers.
Why would anyone even consider voting for someone who still thinks that Obama or anyone else could take your guns away? Since Raese doesn't have a clue or a plan, all he can do is rely on you hating Obama.
I've always thought that Fox News was a comedy show. It saddens me to hear differently, but it still makes me laugh.
By allowing children to ride ATVs and dirt bikes in the Marmet Labor Day Parade, the town exposed themselves to a huge liability. I also witnessed a child driving a souped-up vehicle in the parade.
I took part in the 10K walk that went up to the cemetery. The sidewalk/fenced area was a trash dump from the interstate overcrossing to the start of the homes. It was a mess last year as well. Is this a forgotten area by the street department? Not a nice sight for our visitors.
I was checking a box of mood stone rings I have, and found a little slip of paper that reads; "Black: Tense, Nervous, Over-Worked." Then I saw this, "Blue: Relaxed at ease, calm, lovable." I want to add my thoughts on the Fort Hill Bridge to say that the color blue (see above) is calming.
No doubt the first item on the agenda of a Republican controlled U.S. House of Representatives would be the impeachment of President Obama, even if there would not be enough Senate votes for conviction. The hatred of him is scary, but the ignorance of what he is trying to accomplish to help our nation is worse.
The news reported that we need new cancer centers because more and more people are suffering from cancer, especially children. Next few days it was reported that the coal industry wants dirty state legislators to weaken the water quality laws to save the rich industry from treating the water.
Maybe if the Islamic people would help us fight the war on terrorism, people would quit looking at them as possible terrorists and show them the same respect as other religions.
I see where Raese said that Manchin supported cutting Medicare $400 million: That is typical Republican scare tactics. If it was true it would be better than Raese and the Republicans. They want to stop Medicare and Social Security completely.
Kudos to Kyle Slagle and the Gazette for the helpful map of the West Side shooting site.
First it was the Bible. Then paddling. Now it's swing sets. We've ruined one generation of kids by spoiling and overprotecting them. The next generation is going to be an even bigger waste.
