I found both these articles very interesting. The first one, "Prisons warehouse our surplus labor," by the Rev. Matthew Watts, was in your newspaper Sept. 30. In the second, the Dallas Morning News reported in August that federal prisoners were served food that was intended for pets. This story really touched my heart. Do we really have no compassion at all for our people in federal prisons?
I know we all have to pay for our mistakes, and some pay a lot longer than others. I don't have compassion for murderers or child molesters. But there are some who should never be in prison, or only should be there a short time. Those I find it hard to believe that they can be fed pet food. I cannot believe the government did not prosecute this meat broker. I heard that the food was not good, but this is ridiculous.
Preference for things made in USA will help
Your articles about "Made in USA" was the best "news" I've read for a long time. I have been saying that to anyone who would listen for years. I'm sure my family and friends were tired of hearing it.
Keep this going! It won't take long to see great results. West Virginia needs it and America needs it. My hometown needs it!
