  • If they are willing to help the people that are in foreclosure, why can't the people who rent be helped too? I am about ready to get evicted because of lack of work, cutting hours and the cost of gas. If you are going to help one, you need to help the other too.

  • Who says the St. Albans beautification project is working? Have you ever walked down Kanawha Terrace? You have to walk out in the street because the sidewalks are littered with overbrush and overhang and the sidewalks are horrible. You have to go out of city limits to take a walk.
  • I don't feel the least bit sorry for smokers losing rights. A day doesn't go by that I don't see at least one smoker throwing a cigarette butt out the car window. I've watched policemen do it. That's called littering. That's illegal. Lawbreakers have no rights.
  • The CSX ditch line from Rand to Belle is full of water and not draining at all. This is promoting mosquitoes. Who will make them fix this?
  • I think that as big as CAMC Memorial and General are that the hospital would put out maps for each floor to the various departments that you are trying to find. It would be a great asset.
  • It is not the police officers' job to get those children off the four-wheelers up Sugar Creek. It is the job of their lazy parents to do that. Where are they?
  • Somebody commented about the Republicans and their wealth and greed. That complaint doesn't hold water anymore. Have you looked at the wealth of Rockefeller, Kerry, Pelosi, Clinton, Gore and Edwards? There's money on both sides. Big difference is Democrats want to use your tax dollars to support their causes.
  • I am prejudiced, a fact that I am not particularly proud or ashamed of. I believe every one of us is prejudiced in one way or another. I just hope when people vote in November that prejudice is not the reason if they vote against Barack Obama. Please vote on the issues. Your very livelihood may depend on it.
  • For months John McCain slammed Obama publicly for not taking a foreign trip and for lacking the political skills and experience that a commander in chief needs. Now that Obama is taking that trip and is having monumental success abroad, McCain is slamming him for taking the trip. Sounds like a sore loser to me.
  • My daughter lives in Myrtle Beach and she just recently purchased a Mini Cooper automobile. When she drove home to Charleston, W.Va., the amount of gas was only $40 for a one-way trip.
  • Why can't the widows who get Social Security from husbands get a stimulus check?
  • To those who question Obama's stance in everyone learning Spanish, if you ever leave our beautiful state of West Virginia and visit states like Florida, North and South Carolina, Texas, Arizona and several more you might wish you did know Spanish. He is just looking out for all of us.
  • I think the idea of making putt-putt golf accessible to wheelchairs is ludicrous. Other people have rights also and just because you are in a wheelchair you have no right to take their rights away from them. I have been in a wheelchair for four years and I don't have to begrudge anyone that is ambulatory their rights. Think about it.
  • For the man that has been arrested 12 times for DUI, he should be permanently put behind bars. This gentleman is willfully putting himself on the highway and endangering everybody. He is a menace to society and should be put away.
  • The person who said CAMC did not give good care in their hospitals and hopes they never have insurance, you should be ashamed of yourself. My fiancée had ovarian cancer a month ago and the staff on Floor 3 at Women's and Children's hospital did a fantastic job, the best job I have seen in 50 years.
  • I would like to know when the state of West Virginia is going to do something about the landslide on Pine Terrace in Cross Lanes that is closing off the creek; and a fire truck can't even get up the hollow to the houses that are up there.

Democrat, you and people like you are the reason West Virginia is such a corrupt backwards mess with statements like "I'd vote for the devil before I'd vote for a R." You keep loyally "pulling the rooster's tail," putting the same self-interested clowns back in office year after year, probably because your granddaddy or some union boss told you fifty years ago "Democrats is for the workin' man, Republicans is for the rich man." Because of people like you, we are left with an almost unaccountable state goverment, since most elected officials are free to be as incompetent and crooked as possible without ending up in Federal prison as long as they have that "D" behind their names. And just so you understand, my problem is not with voters who look at the candidates and the issues and sincerely prefer the Democrat; my problem is with the mindless straight ticket voters who vote how they're told or vote based on child-like conceptions of good versus evil, good guys versus bad guys, etc.
