- I love the new ad the Republican Party put in the paper about our governor. It says it the way it is. Manchin is not for West Virginia, but he is all for himself. He is what Obama wants in Washington. Another automatic "yes" vote.
- Is there a telephone number that you can call and report someone who is on disability but is being paid under the table with cash? If so, please publish it.
- To the person who wanted information about the multi-class reunion for Charleston High School: You can contact the Charleston Civic Center to get the information you need.
- To the venter who called about gnats: check your drain, the gnats may be coming from residue in your lines or your trap could be holding water.
- I've called the Charleston Police Department, the Fugitive Files tip hot line and the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department telling them the whereabouts of the fugitive that was aired last week on the news and he is yet to be picked up. He is there as I speak. I guess they have better things to do.
- When will the city of Nitro do something about 40th Street? It is one of the main arteries to get in and out of the city. It is the dirtiest, filthiest unkempt road in the city of Nitro. It is full of holes and it is also dangerous.
- If you can't afford the $6 toll to cross the Turnpike, then you can't afford to go to the beach.
- Here we go. I just got my first Frontier phone bill and it was higher than my Verizon bill was. I called and was told it was the way they figure the taxes. I guess their taxes are higher than Verizon. I'm already looking for a replacement company.
- Not to belabor the point, but if the person who drives from Eleanor to Point Pleasant weekly does so, he goes over Eskew hill, Dead Man's Hill and Curve and Steenburgen Hill as he approaches Point Pleasant and I have seen accidents on each and every one in the curves on or at the bottom of each of them.
- I would like to know where this user fee money is going. I live on the West Side and all I see is potholes everywhere I look. The city comes, jerks their jackhammers out, digs the hole and then throws gravel in it.
- To the person who wanted to the know the different school codes for Kanawha County: CD -- Curriculum Development, CE -- Continuing Professional Development, TP -- Teacher- Pupil-Parent Conference, OS -- Outside School Environment, SE -- Special or Bond Levy Election, E -- Primary/General Election, H -- Holiday, IS -- Instructional Support and Enhancement Days.
- To the patient trapped in a waiting room with the wrong station on the TV: If both your legs aren't broken, what is stopping you from getting up and changing the channel? You could always be polite and say, "If nobody minds, I'd like to switch to something a little more light-hearted."
- Can anything be done about the speeding coal trucks through the Hernshaw area? I can't believe someone hasn't already been killed by one of them. They are out of control and something needs to be done before someone is killed.
- It seems strange to me that all the people offering solutions to education problems in America haven't been in a school in quite a long time. If people want to know how to fix education, they should ask the teachers, and especially the students.
- The Spring Hill Post Office on Chestnut Street needs to move their mail drop boxes off the street before someone is hit by a car and killed.
- I think that the spending of welfare checks should be limited to necessities only. It is unfair for the working citizens of this state to pay for new ATVs and beer for welfare recipients.
- Thanks to the city of Dunbar for the several hundred gallons of city stormwater in my basement recently which came from their antiquated, inadequate sewer system.
- A tea party is not a racist organization. It's just that a majority of its members are free to be racist bigots.
- I really enjoyed my lighted landscapes but I got my power bill and have decided to cut it all off. Anyone want to buy some Christmas lights real cheap?
- Congratulations to Sen. Goodwin. It took you all of 15 minutes to send the country another $34 billion in debt with your vote.
- I was in Virginia earlier this week and paid $2.44 a gallon for gas but here in West Virginia is $2.79 a gallon. I don't understand the big difference in price. Could someone please explain this?
- If Joe Manchin is elected to the Senate, will this enable his family members to receive additional college degrees?
- The Republican Party doesn't want to give a dime to the needy but they will stand in line in order to help out the greedy.
- Everyone knows how extremely hot it's been lately. Can you just image how much a liberal will be sweating on Judgment Day?
- I am so grateful each time I have to go to the doctor. However, I pay for my health insurance because I am a working person. I love Fox News, I think it's great.
- I always thought Fox News was a comedy channel that spoofed the news channels. I am in shock that anyone took that show seriously. It is a comedy that is on 24 hours a day. It's a continual laugh. Those people are hilarious.
- Ken Hechler, you are a good man, but you are also 95 years old. Save your money; you don't have a chance.
- Why isn't Gov. Joe leading the charge to save Blair Mountain? Could it be because he is already in the pocket of the coal industry?
- Gov. Manchin certainly has no commitment to the citizens of West Virginia or the taxpayers. We voted for him to be our governor and we expected him to serve his time.
- I know that Massey coal mines have messed up in the past but did anyone stop and consider the fact that there was seismic activity the day that disaster happened?
