Hundreds of miners are losing their jobs in Boone County while Obama supporters are saying the economy is improving. I'm sorry if this offends people, but I don't think Obama supporters have a clue.
The tea party-dominated House of Representatives did not pass 27 jobs bills. They passed bills that named buildings and eliminated anti-pollution laws. Bush didn't enforce anti-pollution laws. How many jobs did that produce?
Manchin versus McConnell -- a classic case of a battle of wits between unarmed opponents.
The justice system should be based on a point system. Each crime adds points and the worse the crime, the more points. Community service takes points off. When you reach the point limit, you get the dirt-nap needle. Simple.
Regarding the health-care mandate concerning birth control, I think all Americans agree that the government cannot and should not require any service that violates any citizen's religious beliefs. But the law does not become effective for two years, and all affected organizations will be able to obtain waivers for any part that is against their religious faith.
Liberals are lazy, freeloading people. That's why they keep voting in all the politicians that keep giving them handouts.
Four years ago the news media manipulated the news to make Obama look perfect. Today the same news media is doing the same thing to undermine the campaign of any GOP candidate that might have a chance to beat Obama next year.
Did you hear thrice-married Newt Gingrich object to the proposed rule concerning the coverage of birth control pills under the affordable health-care law? I discovered that the state of Georgia, where Newt launched his political career, has a state law that mandates all health-care insurance policies furnish birth control to all citizens with no exception for religious organizations.
I have simple solution to the country's debt and revenue woes. First, let the Bush tax cut expire for all and put a surcharge on the top 2 percent to help cut down the national debt. Most Americans will not even notice the small increase in their tax bill, maybe 3 to 5 percent. As to the national debt, just ask those to whom we owe money to forgive the debt. After all, just look at all the debt we have forgiven over the years.
Beware of strangers who want to help you load your car on a parking lot. Today at a meeting a lady told us about a man who helped her load groceries and stole her pocketbook from her purse and charged over $400 on his way out of town.

Mitt Romney is like a dodecahedron.
Who is responsible for picking up trash along Old Goff Mountain Road? This is unsightly for the locals and does not make a good impression for those visiting our beautiful state.
When the young girls go to the DHHR office and want help because they are pregnant, do you suppose the caseworkers ask who the father is? I know of several people who are not married and the father has a good job with insurance and they go to the DHHR so the taxpayers can pay the bill for the baby.
Thank you, Judy Wagoner, for your wonderfully written editorial about Tim Tebow that appeared in the Daily Mail. I encourage you to write more commentaries and I encourage the Daily Mail to print them.
Rick Santorum getting the GOP presidential nomination would be like giving President Obama a Christmas present months early. It would be a rout for Obama.
Concerning a recent comment by a reader that liberals have higher IQs than conservatives: A recent study by the Brock University in Ontario says low-intelligence adults tend to gravitate toward conservative beliefs and have tendencies to be racists. A university announcing a survey that puts conservatives in a bad light. Wow. That's a shocker.
I'll accept Obama's birth certificate and his being a Christian when the liberals accept Bush didn't lie to get us into a war. I don't plan on holding my breath expecting that will ever happen.
It appears that the real "friends of coal" -- or, to be more precise, coal mine operators and owners -- is the West Virginia Legislature.
I am a diehard Republican, but I will take Sen. Joe Manchin over Mitch McConnell any day. Number one, I like Joe, and number two, he is a true West Virginian. McConnell is a career Washington insider and his career colleagues on both sides of the aisle are the reason we are in the trouble we are in now.
It's funny watching the remaining four Republican clowns posture for the right-wing fruitcake vote. And it'll even be funnier watching the winner try to swing back to the center when he takes on Obama in November.
